In line with most countries, Brazil has established specific laws and regulations to protect travelers’ rights and to avoid closure of tourism companies in this difficult situation that our planet faces.
Brazilian cancellation, rescheduling and refund rules, for travel services during the pandemic, is very similar to those adopted in most areas of the world.
In essence the rules say that if you have made (or if you want to make) a reservation of travel services during the pandemic, you have the following rights:
- To change travel dates, or cancel the reservation without penalties, and keep the paid credit for future use, which can be used until 31st December 2021.
- In case the service cannot be provided in the future by the fault of the provider, it must be refunded, until 31st December 2021. The refund from the service provider will not include commissions (from travel agencies, operators, travel websites).
You can take advantage of this flexibility to make your reservations of any travel service in Brazil, and change your plans without penalties, even if you decide to cancel last minute. The rules apply to all travel services including domestic flights.
